BUILDING FOR SUCCESS
As Lead Designer on the Arevo platform at RACV, I had the opportunity to help shape a more thoughtful and user-friendly experience for a growing digital product. My focus was on building features that made an immediate impact, while also setting the foundations for long-term success across the design and development teams.
One of the most meaningful projects I led was the full design and rollout of Social Login—a feature that made it easier for people to sign up and get started. By reducing friction in the onboarding journey, we saw a 50%+ increase in user registrations, helping us hit key growth targets and proving just how powerful simple, user-first solutions can be.
At the same time, I recognised a bigger opportunity: Arevo needed a better way to scale its design work as the platform grew. So I took the lead on building a new design system from the ground up. This wasn’t just about creating cleaner buttons or consistent layouts, it was about futureproofing how our team worked.
The system brought together developers, designers, and product managers around a shared visual language and a growing library of reusable components. It meant faster turnaround on features, fewer handoff issues, and more time spent solving real user problems. Most importantly, it gave the team confidence to move faster without sacrificing quality or consistency.

Design System Objectives
The design system was developed with a clear vision: to create a scalable, flexible framework that could serve as a single source of truth for the product, marketing, and engineering teams. It aimed to eliminate design inconsistencies, speed up production timelines, and provide reusable, accessible components across the platform.
THROUGH SOCIAL WE GROW
To support Arevo’s broader objective of increasing user acquisition, platform engagement, and operational efficiency, I led the design and delivery of the Social Login feature, a high-impact initiative focused on reducing signup friction and streamlining the onboarding experience.
Through early-stage research and behavioural analysis, we identified a key drop-off point during account creation. Many users abandoned the process due to time constraints or form fatigue. By introducing familiar, low-effort login options like Google, Facebook, and Apple ID, we gave users a faster, more trusted way to join the platform.
- We followed a lean, user-first design process:
- Validated the need through usability testing and feedback sessions
- Prototyped quickly and tested multiple flows to ensure clarity, trust, and ease of use
- Collaborated cross-functionally to align technical feasibility, legal compliance, and brand standards
Integrated directly into the design system, making the pattern repeatable across future sign-in flows

IMPACT
The introduction of Social Login proved to be one of the most successful UX enhancements delivered on the Arevo platform. By allowing users to sign up or log in using familiar services like Google, Facebook, or Apple ID, we significantly reduced the time and effort required to get started. This single change had an outsized impact across multiple areas of the product and business.
After launch, we saw a 52% lift in overall conversion and a more than 50% increase in completed registrations—a direct response to lowering barriers to entry. The simplified login process gave users immediate access to the platform’s core features, improving early engagement and reducing frustration.
Beyond acquisition metrics, Social Login also helped reduce onboarding-related support queries, freeing up internal resources and contributing to smoother operations. It was a tangible example of how small, thoughtful changes, rooted in user research and backed by clean execution, can deliver real growth without bloated development cycles.
The success of Social Login validated our approach to lean, user-centred design and set the tone for future features: listen first, design simply, and build only what adds value.

Fuel and EV finder
Arevo Fuel Finder – Bridging Utility with Usability
One of the standout features I helped shape on the Arevo platform was the Fuel Finder, a core tool designed to help users quickly locate the most affordable and convenient fuel stations nearby. While the functionality might sound straightforward, the opportunity was much bigger: to build a highly accessible, location-aware experience that brought real, everyday value to users while supporting RACV’s broader mission of smarter mobility.
Purpose and Challenge
With fuel prices fluctuating constantly and cost-of-living pressures rising, we knew there was strong demand for a reliable, real-time fuel comparison tool. However, early prototypes and existing models were cluttered, unintuitive, and inconsistent across devices. Users struggled to find stations, filter by fuel types, or understand price trends over time.
Our challenge was to design a fuel finder that felt effortless, fast, informative, and inclusive, across both petrol and electric vehicle users.
Design & Delivery Approach
We kicked off the project by gathering feedback from current users and running usability tests on the existing flow. This uncovered key friction points: confusing map interactions, poor filtering logic, and a lack of trust in pricing accuracy.
With those insights, we reimagined the experience from the ground up:
Simplified Search & Filters: Created an intuitive interface that let users filter by fuel type, price, distance, or membership benefits in just a few taps.
Mapping for All: Designed an inclusive mapping layer that treated petrol and EV users equally, allowing for hybrid navigation, clear pricing overlays, and live station availability.
Performance First: Optimised load times and reduced map lag through close collaboration with the engineering team, ensuring a seamless experience even on slower connections or older devices.
Design System Integration: Built all components using the Arevo design system I developed, allowing for consistency and reuse across future location-based features.
Impact
The updated Fuel Finder became one of the most-used tools on the platform, driving repeat visits and longer in-app engagement sessions. It helped reinforce Arevo’s value proposition as a practical everyday tool, not just a one-time download.
For users, it meant real savings and smarter choices. For RACV, it meant increased platform stickiness, improved NPS, and a stronger bridge into electric mobility services, all while reinforcing RACV’s role in supporting Victorians on the road.
