IN PEOPLE WE TRUST
Welcome to Midnight Merchant, Australia’s first peer-to-peer trading card marketplace built by collectors, for collectors.
We started Midnight Merchant because, like you, we were tired of overpriced platforms, clunky systems, and feeling like just another number. Our mission is to give control back to the community, with a space that’s fair, easy to use, and actually built with collectors in mind.
Whether you’re chasing rare Pokémon, listing your Lorcana deck, or just clearing out your binder, we’ve made the process simple, fast, and rewarding. You can list in seconds, track real-time prices, and connect directly with other collectors, without the bloated fees or corporate nonsense.
This platform is a blend of old-school trading nostalgia and modern tech, a nod to the schoolyard days, but built for now. It’s clean, secure, and growing fast, with a passionate community behind it.
Midnight Merchant is about more than just selling cards. It’s about creating a marketplace that feels like it belongs to us, the players, the collectors, the fans.
So if you’re ready to shop smarter, sell faster, and collect on your terms, welcome. You’re in the right place.

ROME WASN'T BUILT IN A DAY
Midnight Merchant wasn’t built overnight. It’s the product of over four years of late nights, shifting roadmaps, stubborn bugs, scrapped ideas, and small wins that slowly snowballed into something we’re incredibly proud of.
From day one, we knew we weren’t just building another marketplace. We were building something for the community, by the community, a platform that put collectors first. But that vision came with its own set of challenges. We started with workshops in Miro, sketches in Figma, and big dreams pinned to whiteboards. We dug deep into market research, user behaviour, and trading trends to define the features that mattered most to people like us, actual collectors.
Then came the hard part: turning vision into reality. Our small but mighty team of analysts, designers, and developers worked tirelessly to bring the platform to life. Designs were tested, redesigned, and tested again. Bugs showed up at the worst times, right before launches, during user tests, sometimes even in features we thought were finished. Some days it felt like one step forward, two steps back.
And as the platform gained traction, success came with its own kind of pressure. New users meant new expectations. What worked for 100 people needed to scale to thousands. Features we once thought were “nice-to-haves” suddenly became urgent. We had to adapt, often quickly, and make tough calls about where to focus and what to pause.
But through all of it, the goal stayed the same: create a seamless, data-driven platform that feels good to use and genuinely supports the trading card community.
The result is Midnight-merchant.com, sleek, intuitive, and built with collectors in mind. It offers real-time market insights, fair pricing tools, and a clean user experience wrapped in a nostalgic, schoolyard-inspired design. And while we’re proud of how far it’s come, we’re just as proud of the messy, honest process that got us here.
Because Midnight Merchant isn’t just a platform, it’s proof of what can happen when passion, persistence, and community come together.
The Success of Midnight Merchant
Midnight Merchant has become more than just a trading card platform, it’s a thriving marketplace and a passionate community that has redefined how collectors across Australia buy and sell cards.
What started as a small, community-driven idea has grown into a highly active P2P marketplace, with thousands of users listing, browsing, and completing secure transactions every week. From Pokémon to Lorcana, One Piece to Magic, the platform has become a go-to destination for collectors looking for both value and a better experience.
The launch of our first paid marketing campaign was a major turning point. With minimal spend, we saw market penetration well beyond expectations, achieving a 47-cent cost per capture, and reaching over 15,000 people in just two weeks. That kind of traction doesn’t just happen, it confirmed what we’d suspected all along: there’s a huge appetite for a collector-first platform that listens to its users.
More importantly, our data shows that users are sticking around. Listings are growing week-on-week. Transactions are increasing. And most importantly, collectors are telling their friends, because they’re finally seeing a platform that respects their time, money, and passion for the hobby.
Financially, we’re tracking toward a six-figure return in year one, without bloated fees or aggressive markups. That’s a win for us, but more importantly, it’s a win for our sellers. Compared to traditional platforms, Midnight Merchant users keep significantly more from each sale, often $7– $10 more per transaction, because we believe the community should profit from its own contributions.
And this is just the beginning. New features, deeper integrations, and exciting partnerships are already in motion. But at its core, the success of Midnight Merchant comes down to this:
We built a platform we’d actually use. And it turns out, thousands of other collectors would too.
